Through her life, Silvia has been involved in many different art forms and projects such as piano, ballet, jazz dance, teaching Spanish literature and drama to teenagers, story writing , puppets for children, in different areas of drama for children and adults (stage make up, sceneography assistant, acting, script adaptation and directing) Because of the intensity of these experiences she refers to them as “many lifetimes within one”. At the same time recognizing that all these activities have something in common; they are languages, vehicles of communication that have allowed her not only to communicate with others, but also to dialogue with herself.
However it is in Flamenco where she feels truly herself. With its lights and shadows, joys and sorrows, it is a spiritual experience that puts her directly in touch with her ancestors, her roots, in her own words “what in essence I have always been and always will be”.
So far, she has been taking classes in Argentina, Canada and Spain and doing presentations in Canada and in Argentina. Some of her flamenco teachers and perhaps the ones who have had the most powerful impact in her journey so far, and for different reasons, have been: Victor Varón, Paula Gonzalez and Yolanda Heredia (in Argentina); Judith García, Jane Ogilvie, Oscar Nieto, Cristina Hall and Felicia German (in Canada); Felicia German, Manuel Betanzos, Chiqui de Jerez, Manuela Carpio and Mercedes Ruiz in Spain.
In her opinion there is no question that Flamenco has a universal dimension that allows people from anywhere to enjoy it, to feel it and understand it beyond words, because of the magic that happens with heart to heart connections.
